Each session is 3 hrs long and held on occasional dates. Our class sizes are small so pre-booking is essential to secure your place. We recommend only booking on one occasion ( 1 x 3hr session) which will give you a great foundation to start using a sewing machine.

LANGUAGE
This class will be taught in English but one of our class teachers will always be on hand to offer individual discussions in Swedish if this is your preferred language.
DESCRIPTION
A gentle and practical introduction to using a sewing machine, perfect for absolute beginners.
In this 3-hour crash course you will learn the essentials of how a sewing machine works so you can begin your sewing journey with confidence. We’ll guide you through how to thread the machine, adjust basic settings, and sew simple stitches like straight stitch and zig zag.
If you have never used a sewing machine before then this class is highly recommended as a starting point before joining any of our other courses. It’s designed to help you feel more comfortable and capable, so you can get the most out of future workshops.
You’ll leave with a small sample of stitched fabrics, a better understanding of your tools, and the confidence to keep going.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR
This class is for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS who want to learn the basics of sewing and making their own clothing. No prior experience with sewing machines or hand sewing is needed. The Cloth Lab is a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of age, size, ability, or gender. The patterns used in class are unisex and designed to fit a range of body shapes.
