Join designer Birgitta Helmersson for a special two-part live workshop and discover a whole new way to think about making clothes. This workshop is inspired by the methods and designs from her book Zero Waste Patterns, adapted specifically for this live workshop. If you enjoy this project, you'll find many more zero waste patterns, techniques, and variations in the book. This project is designed as an approachable introduction to zero waste pattern cutting, a way of making clothes that uses the whole piece of fabric, leaving little or no waste behind. Rather than working from large paper pattern pieces, you'll draw the pattern directly onto your fabric using a few simple measurements and templates. During the two live sessions, you'll first cut the pattern together and then sew the garment step by step. By the end, you'll not only have a finished tee, but also a new way of thinking about pattern cutting that you can adapt for future projects.
